Welcome to Southwood!

A School Day message has been be sent to each Grade 9 class, letting you know the name of your teacher and the first class you have that day.

Where do I go when I arrive?

All grade nine classes are meeting their teacher outside. When you arrive there will be staff and some student leaders outside at the front of the school who can help you find your teacher. Look for the sign that says their name, or, if you aren’t sure, ask for help.

What should I bring with me?

Mask (we will have some available if you don’t have one with you)
Lunch and snacks
Refillable water bottle (you can fill your bottle here, but drinking fountains are not available)

What can I expect on the first day?

You’ll have both classes and a few fun ways to get to know the school. Leadership students are organizing a tour and some outdoor activities to welcome you to Southwood, help you find your way around, get to know some of your classmates, and have some fun! If you’re interested in a quiet place to gather your thoughts while some activities are going on, we have that option for you, too. Just let you teacher know when you’re here. As well, you’ll be able to pick up your chromebook, as long as your Chromebook Contract has been completed (also available on School Day), which will be yours for the time you’re here at Southwood.
