Our GAC has been busy planning the SSS Earth Week!
Monday | April 20th
Daily Challenge: Meatless Monday
Have you ever wanted to try a vegetarian/vegan diet? Here’s your chance! For your first Earth Week challenge try to have one meal that is meatless to bring awareness to the significance of vegetarian/vegan diets in protecting the environment. Share an image of your meal with @gacsouthwood on Instagram and use the hashtag #sssmeatlessmonday
Daily Event: Get to Know GAC
GAC will present Instagram posts compiling students sharing their thoughts of the importance of Earth day and practicing sustainability in everyday life. These posts will be accessible on GAC’s Instagram, @gacsouthwood. There will also be an opportunity for students to share their thoughts in an anonymous Q&A box on Instagram!
Tuesday | April 21st
Daily Challenge: Trash-Jar Tuesday
Today’s challenge is to reduce the amount of waste you produce in one day. Carry a jar or container around with you all day, and attempt to only consume products with wrappers that fit within the container. Try and fit all of the garbage you produce that day within the container and share a picture with @gacsouthwood on Instagram!
Daily Event: Trivia Tuesday
Have fun and test your environmental wisdom by participating in an Earth Week Trivia Tuesday! A link to a google form will be posted on GAC’s Instagram (@gacsouthwood), on Tuesday, April 21st, and anyone is welcome to participate!

Daily Challenge: Spirit Day
Show off your Earth-loving self! Dress up in your most earthy spirit wear and/or share some earthy art! Share a photo of yourself protecting the world you play in! Tag @gacsouthwood on Instagram!
Daily Event: Featured Video from Rare!
To celebrate Earth Day, GAC is promoting an educational feature video from rare! This will be made accessible over the internet. Stay posted, as more information regarding this event will soon be released!
Thursday | April 23rd
Daily Challenge: Lights Out
For Thursday’s challenge, try your best to utilize natural light all day and try not to turn on lights unless it is absolutely necessary! This may be a challenge, but it will bring attention to green energy use and green energy sources. Share your experiences with @gacsouthwood on Instagram!
Daily Event: Earth Week Kahoot!
Put your environmental knowledge to the test with an Earth Week Kahoot! The code will be posted on GAC’s Instagram (@gacsouthwood) on Thursday, April 23rd, and anyone is welcome to compete!

Daily Challenge: Fridays for Future
Although we are stuck inside, we can still participate in peaceful protest! Post a photo of yourself with your Earthy protest sign and tag @gacsouthwood and @fridaysforfuture on Instagram. Be creative!
Daily Event: Fun Fact Fridays (Earth Week Edition)
GAC will post their weekly fun fact! But they will also challenge you to post your favourite fun fact or maybe not so fun (but true) fact about the environment! Share your findings with @gacsouthwood on Instagram!
