At Southwood Secondary School, we are proud of the achievements of our students. On Thursday, October 6, 2016, the teaching faculty would like to acknowledge the efforts of two particular groups of students who deserve recognition. These include those who received an 80 percent average or greater (both semesters) last year, and those who consistently displayed a positive attitude and contributed greatly to the class environment last year.

It will take place in our double gymnasium from 8:30 a.m to 9:30 a.m., on Thursday, October 6, 2016.

We are asking parents/guardians and all interested family members to join us for this celebration. If you have any further questions, please call the school at 621-5920.

Hope to see you there!

Criteria for Honour’s Certificate Winners

The criteria for receiving an Honour’s Certificate is that a FULL TIME student achieve HIGH honours (an average of 80% or above) in both semester 1 and semester 2.

Criteria for  Elements of Excellence Award Winners

An Award of Excellence is targeting those students that give every ounce of effort in the class, but will likely always fall short of Honour Roll recognition.   The student who made the extraordinary effort in a class; made the class a more enjoyable experience for everyone.  This student may have made an exceptional turn around in performance from the beginning of semester to the end of semester.  They may also have been the student who was always willing to assist their classmates if they struggled with course material.
