Southwood Secondary School in Cambridge invites you to the Broadway phenomenon Hadestown: Teen Edition.

Winner of 8 Tony Awards® including Best Musical and the Grammy® Award for Best Musical Theater Album, the acclaimed show was conceived by celebrated singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell and innovative director Rachel Chavkin as a love story for today… and always. Hadestown has been transformed into a genre-defying new musical that blends modern American folk music with New Orleans-inspired jazz to reimagine a sweeping ancient tale. Hadestown marks the first time in over a decade that a woman has solo authored a musical – writing the music, lyrics, and book – and is only the fourth time in Broadway’s history.

Take a trip to the Underworld with us where a song can change your fate. Follow young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and King Hades and his wife Persephone on the road to hell. Set to the music in the styles of Jazz, Folk and Dixieland, the music is sure to leave you spellbound.

The show opens on Thursday, May 1, 2025 – Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 7pm each night

Tickets are: $15.00/person – Advanced tickets available  from the main office weekdays from 9am – 2pm (cash only). Show day tickets can be bought at the door only via cash or Square Pay.

Additionally, there will be a Youth and Senior Matinee Preview Performance on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at 10:30am – Doors open at 10:15am
