Friday, January 19 is Educational Assistant and Child and Youth Worker Appreciation Day in the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB). This day provides an opportunity to show our appreciation to all of these incredible staff members who support the students we serve every day.

Educational Assistants (EA) and Child and Youth Workers (CYW) in the WRDSB

The impressive work of these dedicated staff members can be seen in WRDSB classrooms and schools every day. We appreciate the many ways they strive to engage, encourage and provide individualized support for students in their learning journeys. They help to ensure all WRDSB students are able to achieve their full potential.

WRDSB EAs and CYWs play an important role in creating learning environments that are:

  • Safe
  • Equitable
  • Inclusive

January 19 is an opportunity to express the gratitude and respect that we feel all year round.

“I am so grateful that we have this opportunity to recognize the efforts of EAs and CYWs across our school board,” said jeewan chanicka, Director of Education at the WRDSB. “Whether you are a student, family member, or colleague, I hope that you each share how these professionals make a real difference for you and the students we serve.”
