This message is on behalf of the Administration team at Southwood Secondary School.

Next week, teachers will be contacting parents/guardians of students who currently are at risk of not achieving their credit.  This may be in the form of an email or a phone call.

Some factors that may have been considered are:

  • Students achieving below a level 2.
  • Students who have outstanding summative tasks.
  • Students who are exhibiting behavioural concerns (poor attendance, poor work habits, lack of engagement, etc.) that are affecting their progress and/or the progress of others.

If you did not receive a progress report but would like to know how your child is doing, please contact their teacher directly.

We are excited to invite all Southwood parents and guardians to attend our Meet the Teacher Night on Thursday October 26th from 5pm to 7pm at the school.

Meet the Teacher Night is a great opportunity to meet your child’s teachers and discuss their progress.  Teachers will be located throughout the school to meet with parents/guardians.  There will be maps with teacher locations at the school entrance and there will also be student greeters and guides to help you find your way around the school.

**Please note that if a student is taking an E-Learning course from a teacher not at Southwood, the E-Learning teacher will not be at Southwood’s Meet the Teacher Night.

Thank you,

SSS Administration
