The Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) is proud to announce the launch of the WRDSB Anonymous Bullying Reporting Tool for students.
The Anonymous Bullying Reporting Tool
The Anonymous Bullying Reporting Tool is available to WRDSB students to report safety concerns related to bullying for themselves, or on behalf of another student. This is one pathway, among many, available to students to report student safety concerns related to bullying.
The Anonymous Bullying Reporting Tool is not meant to replace school supports available, but rather to provide an option for students. Students are encouraged to continue to reach out to their teachers, principal or other school staff when in need of assistance.
The Anonymous Bullying Reporting Tool is not monitored 24/7 and is not meant to replace urgent or emergency services. If you are in an emergency situation, please call 911, contact Here 24/7 (1-844-437-3247) or go to your nearest hospital.
Who can use the Anonymous Bullying Reporting Tool?
The Anonymous Bullying Reporting Tool can be used by any student to report occurrences of bullying in WRDSB schools.
How can students access the Anonymous Bullying Reporting Tool?
A button has been added to each school website’s front page on the left-hand side, providing easy access to the Anonymous Bullying Reporting Tool for all WRDSB students.
Can reports of bullying be made anonymously?
Students have the option to remain anonymous or to provide contact information when submitting a report.
Responding to reports of bullying
Administrators will be notified when a report is submitted by a student at their school. Administrators are responsible for:
- Investigating the report
- Taking corrective action in response to their findings, if required
If a student chooses to provide their contact information, they can expect to receive an initial response to their report in approximately two school days.
What to do if you or someone you know is in immediate danger of harm
Student safety is paramount. The Anonymous Bullying Reporting Tool is not a crisis or emergency service.
If you believe that you or someone you know is in immediate danger of harm
- Please call 911
- Go to your nearest hospital
- Or contact Here 24/7 (1-844-437-3247)
