On Monday evening (November 13, 2017) the Southwood Drama team was invited to attend a gala for The Recognition of Arts & Cultural Achievements at the Cambridge City Hall on Dickson St. downtown.
During the ceremony, Southwood Drama was recognized with 2 awards for their outstanding achievements with last spring’s production of “The Story of a Mother” which was adapted and directed by Ms. Amy Cruickshank.
Southwood Drama’s Cast & Crew was presented with:
– an award for “Arts & Cultural Recognition – November 2017” presented by Mayor Doug Craig & several council members from the City of Cambridge
– an award for “Recognition for Outstanding Arts & Culture Achievement” presented by Hon Kathryn McGarry, M.P.P. from the Provincial Parliament.
Congratulations to: Molly Muck, Emily Ernst, Autumn Russell, Pariya Vejdani, Abegail Spittal, Carlee Seiler, Trevor Sinke, Sophie Diebold, Hannah Dale, Rowan Dubois, Karlee Adams, Maryam Ahrari, Ryan Kennedy, Lauren Davitt, Ashley Herteis, Amy Herteis, Abbie Galloway, Alexis Richards, Jack Curran, Matt Pickering, Mr. Troy Dettwiler, Ms. Kathryn McPherson, Ms. Katie Grant and Ms. Amy Cruickshank.
The Recognition of Arts and Cultural Achievement was adopted by Council in November 2002. Since then, the program has been successful in acknowledging a great many citizens and groups in their artistic and cultural accomplishments who have achieved prominence in the arts regionally, provincially, nationally and internationally.
