Lucas began his teaching career in Burlington, Ontario in 2010.  He spent 11 years in the private sector, including 8 as a senior system administrator before joining the WRDSB in 2021.  He is committed to serving students and staff, as well as their families.  Lucas is committed to innovative teaching and learning through anti-racism, equity, and culturally relevant and responsive pedagogy.  Additionally, in his time as a teacher at Southwood Secondary School he reintroduced the Varsity and Junior Boys’ Hockey programs.
