
Bob joined the Waterloo Region District School Board in 2003. As a teacher at Forest Heights, Huron Heights, and KCI, he has taught English, Drama, History, Civics, Careers, and most notably Student Leadership. Along the way he has also coached Cross Country Running, Swimming, Track & Field, and Boys’ Hockey. Bob’s decade as a Leadership teacher fuelled his passion for developing positive and vibrant school communities, leading him to travel across Canada speaking at student leadership conferences, school assemblies, and teacher professional development sessions. He has been recognized as the Ontario Student Leadership Advisor of the Year, the Canadian Student Leadership Association Leader of Distinction, and was the recipient of the WRDSB Alan Murray Award for Teaching Excellence.
As an administrator, Bob spent three years as a Vice Principal at KCI prior to arriving at Southwood as VP. Bob is a member of Waterloo County Secondary School Athletic Association (WCSSAA) executive and WRDSB committees that focus on assessment and evaluation.
Bob is a lifelong learner who has earned a Master of Arts degree in English Literature and a Master of Education degree in Curriculum Studies. He believes that every student has the potential to thrive academically, and he strives to develop schools where students and their families feel that they are welcome, safe, and have opportunities to grow and explore their interests.
