Absences must be reported before school or during the school day by emailing sss-attendance@wrdsb.ca with the student’s first and last name, the length and reason for the absence OR by calling the Attendance line at 519-621-5920 and pressing 1. Please clearly state the students first and last name and leave the reason for the absence. The attendance line is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Validating a Previous Absence
Call the Attendance line and leave the student’s first and last name, the date(s) and reason for the absence.

Prolonged Absence
Call the Attendance line to report the absence.
Contact your student’s Guidance Counsellor or VP to request that work be collected from teachers and make arrangements to pick up the work at the school. In most cases, work will be available via Google Classroom.

Vacation During School Time – 5 or More School Days Only
Pick up a Short-Term Withdrawal Form from the Attendance Secretary in the Main Office.
Have your teachers fill out the Course of Study sections of the form.
The parent/guardian fills out and signs the form and sends it back prior to departure.
