We are committed to providing safe, caring and inclusive learning environments for everyone to help our students learn and succeed. One way for us to find out how best to do this is to ask students in Grades 3-11, staff and parents/guardians how they feel about their school and interactions with teachers and other students.

Each year, we conduct a Safe, Caring and Inclusive School (SCIS) Survey for students, staff and parents/guardians to complete during April and May. This year, the survey will be available online from April 3 to May 12, 2017. The survey includes questions about teaching and learning, relationships, safety, and school environment.

The purpose of the survey is to:

  • Provide us with information about the experiences of our students, staff and families;
  • Provide us with information to help with decisions to expand programs and/or provide resources to help students from all cultures, faith groups and learning exceptionalities, and;
  • Ensure that we continue to support safe, caring and inclusive environments.

The survey for parents and guardians can be completed online and should take no more than 30 minutes to complete. The survey is anonymous, and you can choose to skip any question or stop participating in the survey at any time.

Results from the surveys will be used to provide reports for our schools that will help us plan or revise our SCIS initiatives.
