Southwood is excited to welcome you to the 2025-2026 school year!

We are so excited to welcome you back to another exciting school year at Southwood Secondary School! 

Our school has over 700 students and a wide range of academic and extracurricular opportunities.  Our knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff can’t wait to meet you, and they will be here to support you through your high school journey. 

Timetables and Timetable Changes

  • Timetables for Semester 1 will be emailed directly to each student’s school email on Thursday, August 28 and Friday, August 29.
  • Timetable changes will be made by appointment with the student’s guidance counsellor during the first 2 weeks of school. Appointment sign ups begin in the Guidance office on the first day of school.  Students are asked to attend their assigned classes until their timetable change is complete. 

Annual School Forms

  • Electronic School Forms to be completed on School Day are available now. Please complete these as soon as possible.
  • Paper forms requiring the signature of a custodial parent/legal guardian will be distributed to students on Monday, September 8th to be returned in class or to the main office the following day.

First Day of School (Special Schedule)

  • Combination locks will be available for purchase from the main office starting the first day of school at a cost of $6.00 for a new lock and $4.00 for a used lock. 

Important Information for Grade 9 Students

 Chromebook Pick-up 

  • Grade 9 students will pick up their chromebooks on the first day of school in the library during the grade 9 welcome orientation
  • Students/Parents must complete the Chromebook Agreement and additional annual Start up Forms are available on School Day.
