“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” Winnie the Pooh

At Monday, November 18th’s Committee of the Whole Meeting for the WRDSB, a series of transfers of Principals and Vice-Principals were confirmed, including me being transferred to Sir John A. MacDonald Secondary School as their Principal, effective January 1st. From 2007 to 2010, I was at SJAM as one of its VPs and it is where I started my role as an Administrator.

Southwood’s new Principal will be Jennifer Bistolas. Over the past several years, I have gotten to know Jen through different committee/board work. She is an amazing, caring and intelligent woman who is a great fit for Southwood. Her being here – in addition to Dave Linnerth here as Southwood’s Vice-Principal – is and will be great for the entire Southwood community.

I will miss everyone here: The students; the staff; and the community more than I can describe in words. I truly believe we are placed where we are at the right time and for the right reasons. I have cherished these almost six years here as an Administrator at Southwood and thank you for allowing me to be a part of the Southwood experience.

Sincerely,

Vida Collis
