Grade 3 and 6 EQAO assessments begin May 23, grade 9 assessments on June 5

Beginning Tuesday, May 23, grade 3 and 6 students will begin EQAO assessments of reading, writing and mathematics. Grade 9 students will complete their assessment of mathematics, beginning on Monday, June 5. Please check with your individual school for exact assessment dates.

2017-18 School Year Calendar is now available

The 2017-18 School Year Calendar is now available. School will start on Tuesday, September 5, 2017. Winter holidays run between December 25, 2017 and January 5, 2018, and March break runs from March 12 to March 16, 2018. The last day of classes will be Thursday, June 28, 2018. Southwood Secondary School celebrates Ontario’s 150th with an evening of art, history on May 25

On Thursday, May 25, Southwood Secondary School is celebrating Ontario’s 150th with an evening of multi-disciplinary art performance and installation in downtown Cambridge.
At the Mill Race Park Amphitheatre, beginning at 7:30 p.m., performances will feature Cam Earnshaw, former Southwood student and Berklee College of Music graduate, and Gary Kirkham, filmmaker, video designer and playwright.
